Aussie Freeze Hairspray!!! It is AWESOME and CHEAP!!! I also really like the root lifter and their shampoos and conditioners. Around $3.
My favorite haircolor is Garnier Fruitesse (?). I am a natural blonde but it developed into a darker blonde as I've gotten older (41). I have some grey now (shhhh)and found that by going a shade lighter than my natural color keeps it from being noticeable... more so than trying to match the color or go darker. Around $6.
I also have a new fav... a very big ceramic barrel round brush that I use to blow dry my hair. It is awesome! Well worth the $12.

The only color I have used that I really love is Rainbow Henna. It's totally messy, but the color is so natural. And it's completely chemical free. I pay $6 a tub at the organic market and it lasts me 2 times. It is a permanent color and does not fade. You only have to do roots, or add new shades as desired. But, if you have never attempted henna- beware, it can be really difficult to master.

Gawd, I totally read that as "I'm a fungal gal" and I was wondering why you wanted things with fungus. Must step away from the computer....
But not before I mention Clariol Nice and Easy Root Touch Up - I'm light auburn. Perfect for extending the time between coloring.

I am only occaisionally fungal. Quickly remedied with a handy cream!

It is not under $10, but this low maintenance girl would pay any price for it: Straight Sexy Hair--smooth and seal. Without it my friz would be the poster hair for "Big Texas Hair" which was really great in the 80s, but even this mommy has moved on.
Yeah! I am so glad I made it into the finals...vote for me!

Hair color is Loreal Preference. And I LOVE Herbal Essence hairspray and styling gel. Shampoo and conditioner is usually what's on sale. Sorry no preferences there! I try to keep my hair low maintenance.

I love, love, love Mario Badescu's orange cleansing soap. It's $12 but still a steal for spa-quality skin care in my opinion.

Citre Shine Shine Miracle Anti-Frizz Serum - I can't live without it! Whether I leave my hair curly or blow dry it straight, it's a must have to reduce the frizz. And it makes my hair so shiny! Only $5 - 8 bucks depending on where you shop!

Dove EVERYTHING around here. I totally love their products. Cheap and fab!

Oops - don't guess I can participate in this frugal Friday discussion - my hair is the one thing I splurge on - no coloring and I do use a variety of the Pantene hairsprays which are all fairly inexpensive but after that I'm in trouble. Of course my hair is long enough that I can sit on it (not that I would want to, but I can) so it takes some TLC to keep it looking nice.

Fussy, Fussy, Fussy!
I did it...I bought Spanx and I love them. Now...to get me the size I would like means that I will have to wear 20 of those suckers all at the same time but hey...totally worth it! Your the Queen of fighting frump and photo shopping.
Come by and see me! I need some comments to look cool!

Didn't want to vote and run (I came over from a contest's blog) so, "HI!"
As for hair products, under $10? Just wash it, no coloring. I used to use the LOreal double color thing in Ginger Snap color but recently I decided to embrace my gray and now am a no-color girl. :)

I wish I could make a recommendation, but I splurge on hair products. I have to say the ones I'm using now are totally worth it--and I don't say that lightly. Frederik Fekkai (sp?) glossing hair products. Especially the glossing cream that you put on before you dry your hair. I can't get over how soft it makes my hair. I keep making the husband touch it.

I'm always a fan of the Aquanet. I also like the Sunsilk products...cheap and pretty decent. I also like the bedhead line: AfterParty, etc. it all smells really nice.

Ooh, if only I was more vain. Sadly I've got little to recommend. I do have a handy tip, though. As I'm in love with Mary Kay (when I remember to use it) and it's too expensive to purchase, I get mine on ebay. It's much cheaper and still the same great stuff. Does that count for a tip?

hair care? What's that?
I use Suave Color Care Shampoo, I think this was $3
john Frieda's Light Reflecting Conditioner (as needed) for Brunettes $ 5-6
Suave Volumizing Mousse $2-3
And Got 2 Be Volumizer $5-7
I also use a product on my roots for the really bad days, but its from a local salon chain and I think it was $13, but it really helps, I have inherited my mom's extremly fine hair.

My favorite is over $10 but so worth it... I have curly hair which goes half limp/half frizzy in a dry climate (sounds attractive, right?)Anyway, my cure is Aveda Confixor. I don't go without it!

TRESemme' at walmart is 3.98$ for a big ol' bottle I like smooth and silky for those smooth and silky days and Volume for those big hair days.
I am in the south and we like big hair so I also use what ever hair spray is on sale at walmart....
I will be 30 this year sooooo not ready to color hair just yet.
Happy fight the frump Mrs. Fussy!

My hair looks terrible right now, so I'm taking notes. What I really need is time to slip out and get a hair cut without all the children in tow, but that's not going to happen.

Hey, Fussmeister, I posted today -- fussy style! LOL You might get a wee kick out of it. (Keep your kick pants on!)

Not under $10 but great for the girls with fine, straight hair. I love it and won't/can't use anything else. Redken Guts and Quick Dry. The price has gone up a little so it is between $12 and $13 depending on where you go. But it is something important to keep my hair from falling into a tired looking mess.
