Yay! Welcome to week two of Fighting the Frump with Fussy. Please remember to use the graphic and link back to this page! If you need more how-to details look here.
Keepin' it casual -How can we be comfortable and look good at the same time?
We have all seen when dressing for comfort goes wrong. Am I right, Frump Fighters?
Let's look at the hip fashionable Hollywood stars. Say you are Julia Stiles and you have been in all the Bourne Identity movies (Hi, Matt. I hear you're very busy lately!) Should we look to stars as fashion inspiration?
Please allow me to model the young hollywood look.
Yikes! What are we to do? Where can we go to know what to wear?
Friends of Fussy, I give you an easy casual look. Perfect for shopping (you'll look chic), a playdate (brown hides stains) or doing housework (blogging).
You can pick up these pieces at Macy's or the Salvation Army -just depends on your budget and ego. I'm a second hand girl myself. Who cares if you ruin it when you buy it for $ 2.00! Can I get an Amen, Sisters?
Frugal Fashionista, Baby- That's how I roll!
It's your turn Frump Fighters. Show me your stuff.

love that outfit!

You're a bad influence on me. I actually went out and bought make up, a nice pair of flats, and one of those tummy tucker lycra things. You're just wrong! ;)

I like it fussy! I posted about frump fighting outdoors style seeing as I run a farm and have to deal with the publicz all the time *mutters quietly about publicz*

That is a really cute outfit, and I so wouldn't have thought of it! I'm going to be on the lookout for brown comfy clothes and a denim duster at Goodwill now!

Hey girl,
Great post. Beleive it or not, even though I just found your site last weekend, after I got the kids out the door, I poured my coffee and actually thought to myself, "Hey! Its Friday! Gotta check out Fussy's Fight the Frump post!".
I've been fightin' all week....I am NOT a pj's-to-the-grocery-store kind of girl, but I AM a frump-around-the-house girl, so this week I have been lookin fab-u-luss while working from home! And feeling fab about it too!
Thanks for the inspiration...you RAWK!
Love from your new bff!

Added my two bits!~

i'm pretty sure brown makes me look more frumpy. i'm way more of a black and gray type of girl :) but i like its simplicity and clean lines...i'm all for both!
Posted by: ali | February 15, 2008 at 09:32 AM
I posted on the CHI. And when you read it, keep in mind that I only aspire to do this every Friday. Truth told, I have gone to the grocery store in PJs, I have realized at 2:00 PM that I forgot to brush my teeth or put on deodorant because I was so frantically getting the house together, and I have worn the same pair of jeans for weeks with nary a thought of washing them. Now go learn of hair salvation!

This is so funny. I got on my computer this morning and wrote my post. Then I went to your sight to read yours, and we ended up writing about pretty much the same thing. :) Great minds think alike.

Just found you this week. Quickly picked a recent post for this time, but am excited to participate. Fightin' the frump is one of my full-time jobs!

I just love this "Fight the Frump" idea. For my first post, I wrote about SAHMs who stop wearing makeup as soon as they have kids.
Posted by: Mindi | February 15, 2008 at 11:12 AM
oooohhhh, where is that cool jacket from? Macy's? Oh my I want that thing. Certainly it could help me defrump myself. One sure way to help de-frump for me is a pair of really, really cool shoes. I'm so sick of wearing my snow boots everywhere I go. I went out in a pair of black suede pointy toe high healed boots last night and I felt awesome. Shoes can do that to a person.

Love the outfit! Brown is currently one of my favorite wardrobe choices.

The tiny head on the last picture is worth the price of admission :)
I have a new feature I am starting over at the nest, please come check it out!

Aw, Mrs. Fussy, I can't wear brown. Makes me look like death warmed over.
Woe is me.
Posted by: Redneck Mommy | February 15, 2008 at 02:21 PM
Okay, so next time I'll read before I ask a silly question. How could this not be something that is around regularly? Great idea.
I added my post.

Y'know - I always forget that brown is one of my better colors. Everything in my closet is grey or blue - Which is fine, until that's all you wear...
I did my part for non-frumpiness this week!!

Ugh, some people dress like the don't at work. I promise to do Fight the Frump next friday, I really promise.

I just find me a nice clearance rack somewhere and shop away. But I've learned to try to pick an outfit as I go because inevitably I come home with cute singles and they match no other cute singles I've already purchased.

Hello! blonde moment here,I didn't know we were supposed to help other fight the frump. {{Duh}} Count me in next week for sure. Mine will be frump leading the frump.

Amen, sister! Now I'm off to figure out how to de-frump for the week.

I love me some good Salvation Army...or consignment, when I'm feeling like splurging. Perfect!
