I will be induced May 14th.
Congrats to Daphne -The Alabama Mama. She was the first to guess correctly. Daphne- be sure to email me and let me know which earrings you love and your address.

I was on bedrest with my eldest son. It was 10 years ago. Back then I had no beloved precious handy laptop or hundreds of wonderful friends to visit with everyday. This time has been quite nice thanks to all the wonderful friends I get to see everyday through your blogs.
Mr. Smartypants is the primary caretaker because he is home all the time still. He has the personality of seasoned businessman. He's confident, comfortable with himself, loves to delegate to underlings, and highly competitive. He's not going to break down easily and admit defeat.
We had this conversation yesterday afternoon-
Smarty -"So, I was thinking that you might need some company while you rest."
Fussy -"No, I'm OK. I have you and the kids."
Smarty -"Maye you might want your mom to come up a little earlier before baby arrives."
Fussy -"Sure, maybe two weeks before, May 1st?"
Smarty -"Or even earlier, say the week of the 21st?"
OK, that is next week, Friends of Fussy. This translates in man-language to, "I'm dyin' here. Get your mom here to take care of the kids." Yet he still wouldn't admit it.
So last night I asked him this question, "Now that you have a taste of caring for all four of them all day, maybe you'll appreciate what I do more from now on."
He responded with this gem, "Oh, it's not bad. I could do it forever. I love taking care of the kids. No problem, babe."
Uh, huh...Long pause...
Smarty- "Did you call your mom today? When can she come down?"
Fussy- "No, I'm not ready for her to come yet."
Smarty, "Oh, please call her. I can't do this anymore!"
I adore my mom, and when she arrives she will take over with the kids and clean the pigpen house. I say we give him a little more time with the boys without back-up. Would that be considered cruel and unusual punishment?
Love, Fussy
PS. Can you tell who came to see me today?

Poor Mr Smartypants - not! Just keep your feet up, Fussy, no matter how much he whines!

not cruel and unusual punishment at all! Hold out for diamonds, chocolate or whatever your little Fussy heart desires before giving in! Besides, I am sure GrammaFussy has a life too!

Maybe he could squirm just a leetle bit longer...at least until he tells you how amazingly amazing you are as a wife and mother...and oh, did he mention how WONDERFUL you look right now?
Then I'd make the call LOL!!! :)

My thoughts exactly! He still will not admit how HARD it is to do it all.
Let's call it 'Sensitivity Training'?
Hee, hee...

Hope you are able to relax!

Hah!! My hubby went crazy with two kids...I'd hate to see him with 5!! I say let him suffer a little longer. You're going to have to milk it for every drop!!
May 14th! how exciting!! Good luck with your continued bedrest!

LOL you crack me up. Sorry that you are on bedrest though!
Posted by: Patty | April 12, 2008 at 08:27 PM
Oooh, give him a little more torture ... um, time, before you call your mom. It isn't going to kill him, and it never hurts to have a little extra respect from the husband for the things he doesn't even realize you do.
'Sensitivity Training' ... LOVE IT!! roflol! Good luck with the bed rest, and many, many prayers.

Okay, seriously? That photo creeps me out. Could that ever really happen? I just am going to pretend it's PhotoShopped. K?

Well I was close! Maybe I can be more accurate with your next child's birth. :)

Dang. I wish I was on bed rest and Lotus would come visit me and my husband had to care for me and the kids. But then we would have no money. And that would mean that I would be having another baby, and our family is complete. I guess I do not envy you, but I hope that you are keeping your sanity and enjoying your rest!!!

Sneaky Mrs. Fussypants ....I love it!

Let him sweat it out a little longer. LOL

Isn't it funny how our husbands like to think that they're Supermen, but let them take care of the kids for just a couple of days & it's like they've been exposed to a near-lethal dose of kryptonite! If I lived closer, I'd totally come & visit you, Fussy! Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers!
PS - I'm still waiting in suspense for the winner of that last HILARIOUS photo to be announced! ;o) Actually, in my opinion there should be like 5 winners! Love ya, Fussy!!!

Hey, I know who that is! It's She Of Many Chins and He Of Many Poops!
You take care of yourself, sweetie! We'll be back again, soon. With chocolate next time, maybe? Eh? EH!?

Oh, Thats wonderful, you will induced on my sons birthday!! He actually came on Mothers Day that year.

DEFINITELY give him a bit longer. I think it's a GREAT idea for the man of the house to get a taste for how the other half lives. When I had my nervous breakdown, my husband suddenly appreciated me a WHOLE LOT better. :)

Love the picture of Lotus and Brayden. Too cute!
Hang in there sweetie.

Oh, bedrest, how I miss thee!!!!
When I was 29 weeks pregnant with my first child I went on bedrest-I complained the whole time-I HAD a life ya' know!!!! Boy did I wish I had taken advantage of the rest after she was born.
Then when my daughter was 1 1/2 and I was 28 weeks with twins I went back on bedrest-oh did I CHERISH EVERY MOMENT!!! If only I could find some reason to have a few weeks of downtime and let my husband have the kids and all to care for right now...
Oh, well back to reality! Enjoy your time and get lots of rest-best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy! I just love stopping by your blog-it is great!!

I wanna go on bedrest!
Make him worship you! Keep Mom away for a few more days ;)
Glad the internetz is keeping you in good spirits, after all you do for it too!
Love!!

Glad you are making the best of bedrest. Sounds like a great home schoolin' for hubs. I giggle to think of my sweetie taking care of 4 boy-o's, our two are plenty for him! He used to get panicky when baby would cry and instead of proactively checking dipe/feeding/burpring would call me on cell and just hold the phone to baby's mouth.

Funny! When I was pregnant with my last one,I was desperate and nauseous so I packed up up myself & our son and left for about a month. He was woefully unprepared to take care of us. He never denied it either. Blessings as you rest!
