Fussy's Magazine Wants You!

Bd_logo_with_drop_shadow_2

OK, so everyone reads my supa-fab magazine, right? You know, the world's best collaboration of women on the web. We bring the readers fun and informative articles, tips, tutorials and inspiration. Oh, yeah, we bring it all!

Since the magazine is so popular already (thank you everyone!) Karla, the managing editor, and I are in the process of a big redesign and relaunch in June. The format will be more of a traditional online magazine and less blog-like. We are expanding our topics covered and even adding weekly columns from some of your favorite women on the web!

Here are some of our new areas-

  • Gardening
  • Blogging (how-to, tips)
  • Parenting -Special Needs
  • Finances
  • Green/Eco Living
  • Entertaining
  • Decorating
  • Crafts

We are expanding these areas-

  • Decorating
  • Etsy love
  • Cooking
  • Parenting
  • Crafts for kids
  • Crafting (tutorials, tips)
  • Beauty
  • Celebrity buzz

We will have weekly columnists who will write about-

  • Weight loss journeys
  • Motherhood
  • Homekeeping

Karla and I have received a huge response. We are compiling info and will contact everyone next week with more details.

We are still open to new contributors. Please contact us this week to throw your hat in the ring!

Now, this is what I need from you and the rest of the Friends of Fussy. I need your thoughts, opinions and brilliance to answer my questions-

  1. What is your favorite feature of Blissfully Domestic?
  2. What topic do we need to cover?
  3. What direction would you like to see us go?

I can't wait to hear from you. I want the magazine to be a positive, helpful, fun and informative. I need your help making sure I keep it growing and going in the right direction.

Love you, Fussy

I would love to have the chance to contribute to Blissfully Domestic. My heart is rather big and mushy and as such can reside in a number of places at one time. It does take full-time residence with my children as it's first home. Perhaps taking a read of "Her Storm" over at my place would shed a little light on who I am. http://womaninawindow.blogspot.com/2008/05/her-storm.html
We live in a 100+ year old home. My heart has the occaision to spill over into country decorating, also. I've a special post in mind about the art of hanging laundry but haven't posted it, yet.

If you're interested you can reach me at eabones@hotmail.com or catch up on my blog at http://eabones@hotmail.com.

Thanks to Rebecca at http://frogandtoadarestillfriends.blogspot.com/for sending me your way and thank you for taking a little time from your busy life to get to know me.

Yours truly,
Erin Wilson

I'd love to throw my hat in the ring - I'm a geeky mom with a new web design business, planning on homeschooling (again) in the fall, trying to make a living in one of the top jobless states in the US (Michigan).

:) Rachael
http://antithete.com is my blog, and http://caffeinatedelf.com is my business.
Thanks!

I'd love to contribute in the area of blogging (how-to's and tips) if you still need someone! I'm looking forward to seeing the magazine grow!

Would love to contribute! Etsy Love, whatever...

Thanks!

Would love to contribute. Maybe in a "Outdoor Family Fun" type thing?

I would love a chance to contribute to Blissfully Domestic. I can write about motherhood, homeschooling, autism, and even decorating. (we had a housefire in Oct 2007 and I single-handedly redecorated our home afterwards, paint, flooring, style..I love the Arts & Crafts look, so that is how I did it. There isn't a white wall in my home).

In any case, I would love to be involved!

I'm officially throwing my hat into the ring, if you'll have me :) I'm new to Blissfully Domestic, and I am a mom to four, one with special needs. I'd love to have the chance to share what I've gained from parenting neurotypical and non-neurotypical kids.

Thanks!

So how's the bebe?

I'd like to wrote about special needs-- emotional issues. As you know, my kids both have emotional issues...adolescents usually do. But my son is bipolar and my daughter has NVLD and between them I've become an educational advocate that helps parents navigate the education system. It's my calling after writing Lost posts.
Can't wait for Thursday!

I would love to contribute in Parenting Special Needs. My son has had 504's and IEP's in three states, plus I've homeschooled him! I also have several relatives and friends with sp. needs kids as well (we tend to flock together).

1. What is your favorite feature of Blissfully Domestic?
Forums
2. What topic do we need to cover?
Can't think of any right now.
3. What direction would you like to see us go?
Looks like you have that under control.

I'd be happy to help too. My area of is ADOPTION. All of my children are adopted (they are African/American. We are not) and we live in a small town in rural Ohio (1500 pop) that includes 23 other families who have adopted children! My husband has a nonprofit that helps get the word out about adoption, adoption issues, and how to finance for it. We also have OPEN adoptions which means we have lots of contact with our children's families of origin (very unusual but very fun).

Our boys are ages 4, 2, and 1; it's never dull here. We have a basketball hoop in the living room and cows roaming near the play area outside. We're neighbors with the Amish and less than an hour from Cleveland.

Oh, and my inlaws live with us! We do the "multigenerational housing" thing... I suppose that's trendy but for us it's just practical... like living in a dorm but without the 3a fire alarms. LOL

I'd be happy to offer our silliness to your magazine. Feel free to check out our blog for pics and comments. http://coldnoodlesforbreakfast.blogspot.com

Katie in Ohio
PS: Stayed twice in your area of TN picking up boys 2 and 3. Loved the Aquarium restaurant at the outlet mall...

love to contribute! however i'm not sure what topic i'd be good at ... never the less... count me in! :)

I could take on gardening.

Is there any compensation for weekly columnists? I could contribute on parenthood, family traditions, etc.

I would love to contribute also, would be super fun ya know? Honestly, I would jump at the chance. I'm a eco-living, corporate Interior Designer. I think I could write a pretty mean eco-chic post! Just let me know when and where....
love you!

Fussy, you know we moms of five know everything- so yes I'd love to contribute. Parenting advice, obviously is a speciality, but I also like to talk about mommy politics(you know the politics of mommy interactions), mommy relations, and also whatever strange shi, I mean stuff is on my mind.

Hope you'll consider taking a ride on my slide over at my blog, Postsfromtheplayground.

All my love, Laurieofthesevenstories

P.S. Even though, I have five and you have five, you all boys whereas I have three girls.Oh, I take my hat off to you woman, and I wonder, do you have any banisters in your house, and if so, how close are they to being pulled completely out of the wall?

The new sections look faboo!! I can't wait to see what happens with the redesign!!

I like reading about relationships and intimate issues. If it is in your plan sometime, I would be game to be the writer. It is my area of expertise.

Of course, it would be classy but we all have intimate issues as some time or another.

I'm also good about helping others with finances....so I could help.

Let me know what to do!

I would love to contribute to Blissfully Domestic! I am a child psychologist who is doing "field research" as a SAHM raising my own two little ones. My blog mommymenagerie.blogspot.com is fairly new, but I have been blogging at another site for much longer. I could write about child development, parenting skills, and how to get your kids to do what you want them to do and stay sane doing it. I love to write and will help out if I can!

Hey, Babe. I think I'm better off doing a weightloss journey. My fitness posts keep getting pushed off and I talked to Karla about it. I'd like to share that with someone but I could TOTALLY get in to a weightloss journal sort of thing. I was thinking of doing that anyway.:-)

I can't believe how much you do and how well you do it. Or, wait, I can. It's you. You rock. Me? Drowning. And I don't have a newborn. XOXOXOOOOOO

I would be honored if you considered me as a writer for Blissfully Domestic. I have a degree in Education with a minor in Special Education. Which DID NOT prepare me for the challenges of parenting, especially finding out that one of my four children has Autism. I have used a lot of non-traditional approaches with her. I love to write about homeschooling, parent choice education, and T.V., Computer free activities to enjoy with your children. I also love to write book reviews, both for parents and children. Thank you for considering me. You can see some of my writing at my blog www.mrsmarchslittlewomen.blogspot.com

What about a recipe section-I need variety, but EASY!!!!!!!!!!

I love the craft ideas for kids. I've tried a few with my nieces and it's worked out well. Maybe some craft ideas for toddlers too?

I really enjoy all of the articles - I even refer other mommies to the site all the time!

Yes, also easy, kid-friendly recipes would be nice!

I love blissfully domestic--the "daily gossip" is a must, though! I also love the parenting/motherhood activities and the finance sections. More etsy would be great, too.
Can't wait to see the new one!
Sarah

i would love to throw my hat in the ring for consideration! i have a 12 year old and 10 month old triplets so my perspective is a bit unique...

I would be happy to help. My favorite column is Financial Peace but I need to read that more than I can write about it. I would be willing to write about trying new things, teaching crafts to kids which I will be doing at the Y along with teaching food crafts in the Fall, how to hold a cooking demonstration, direct sales or working from home and its ups and downs, and whatever you need.

I see women my age starting to work from home more so time management is always an issue when family commitments and personal commitments collide. Maybe a time management article each week - how to fit it all in and keep time for yourself. Maybe, frugal/personal getaways when you can afford a big trip.

Those are some ideas. Let me know.

Come check out my new post and add your input on what to do when bloggers meet face to face!

Thanks.

I would love to see an easy recipe feature (maybe 5 ingredients or less) and as a mom to twins, one being special needs I LOVE to hear that it may be coming! Yayy!
