I have a neat giveaway for y'all! One of my best online friends, Toblerone at Simple Mom, has just released her first ebook. It's called Spring Cleaning for Normal People, and of course, everyone loves it. Personally, I think cleaning while you have little kids around is like shoveling snow in a blizzard, but this book actually makes it manageable.
Now, stop laughing at me. Yes, I have Blissfully Domestic, but y'all know I am way more Blissful than Domestic. {winks} Seriously, her book is really great. I wouldn't tell the Friends of Fussy to go on over and get it if it wouldn't rawk your sawks!
It's a 68-page guide to helping you declutter, clean, and organize the main living space of your house in around 10 days.? It's chock full of checklists, recipes for cleaners, resources, daily game plans, and templates to inventory all your stuff.? Go check it out!? It's well-written, encouraging, and a lot of fun. And at only $7, it's an inexpensive tool to help you overhaul your home. Coming from me, who would rather stick a fork in her eye than organize (ADD much?) that says quite a bit.
One more thing about the lovely Toblerone of SimpleMom- she is the editor of the Digital Bliss channel over at Blissfully Domestic.
So, yes, she has a mega-popular blog, a book and edits the BD site. I always tell her if she wasn't the sweetest most humble chick I know then I'd be fiercely jealous! ;)
Now, go check out SimpleMom's site and come back here to enter my Spring Cleaning for Normal People giveaway. Leave a comment and tell me which part of keeping house makes YOU want to stick a fork in your eye. I'll choose the winner at random next week. Feel free to enter everyday. It will help your chances!
Love you bunches,
Alli
PS- My fellow Blissfully Domestic Diva, the lovely Gidget, is giving away this book and some really cute custom made Etsy items on her personal site, GidgetGoesHome. Yay, more free stuff. I love free stuff!

Laundry, that's why it is delegated to my husband.

Sorting & putting laundry makes me want to stab myself with a fork.Ugh.
Posted by: kimblahg | September 10, 2008 at 09:37 AM
The constant clutter. I pick up a room and 20 minutes later it's a disaster again. And don't get me started on the mail on the table, the shoes by the door, the coats that don't get hung up right away, the dirty clothes on the floor . . . . ACK!
Posted by: Kimberly | September 10, 2008 at 09:38 AM
The toilets. Oh, the toilets.
Oh wait, the crumbs on the counter.
No, wait, the clothing all over the house.
No, it might be the showers....
Fork now firmly in eye until I WIN! :)
Thanks Alli and Simple Mom!

Unloading the dishwasher and putting away clean clothes both are at the top of my "kill me now" list.
Posted by: Laura | September 10, 2008 at 09:41 AM
The bane of my housekeeping existence is the toilet. I hate the toilet. It's gross, even when it's clean. ugh!!!
Posted by: Tara @ Feels like home | September 10, 2008 at 09:54 AM
I don't so much mind folding the clothes (except for mating socks) but I hate the thoughts of actually putting it away.
Posted by: Mandy | September 10, 2008 at 09:54 AM
You're asking me to choose only ONE thing I hate about housekeeping?! You ask the impossible. Heh. Actually, it's not the cleaning itself that's so awful if it weren't for all the people who actually live in my house that mess it all up before I can even enjoy it. Maybe if we all moved out... ;)

I would have to agree with everyone else and say the laundry! It is just never ending around here =S Please pick me.....I need help!!!!!
Posted by: Amiee | September 10, 2008 at 09:59 AM
The mere thought of having to fold and put away laundry makes me cringe . . .
And I'm with Laura . . . unloading the dishwasher, UGH!

The endless dog hair from my Chocolate Lab and Siberian Husky.
Posted by: Kristie | September 10, 2008 at 10:07 AM
Gosh, where to start. I have toys in every room of my house. EVERY ROOM!
I can get the laundry washed and dried - but folded? That's a different story altogether.
I could do on and on.

Clutter control is a never ending battle-storage solutions are my top need!
Posted by: Jeanette | September 10, 2008 at 10:10 AM
My secret?
My 9 & 7 yo boys do all the kitchen cleaning, unloading & reloading of the dishwasher.
I haven't done it in 2 years.
Ok, sure I find plates in the wrong cabinent & ignore the horrid order things go in, but hey, no work for me!
BTW- We run our dishwasher 2-3 times a day, so this is a huge help.
Now laundry, shoot me now!
LOL!

I cannot STAND cleaning the shower. Absolutely LOATHE it. Do you think maybe I don't like it? ; )
Looks like a great book! Thanks for the chance!
Posted by: Elaine | September 10, 2008 at 10:15 AM
Cleaning clutter in general, but especially going through 'memorabilia'. What to keep? what to toss? Then what do you do with it? AHH! I'm with you about the kid thing...I pick up one room and they have already dirtied another...
Posted by: kspin | September 10, 2008 at 10:16 AM
I loathe doing the dishes. Thankfully, my hubby is a fiend about having them done, so I let HIM do them!
Posted by: Mary | September 10, 2008 at 10:20 AM
Toilets. And the floor around the toilets. Boys are disgusting.
Posted by: catnip | September 10, 2008 at 10:33 AM
Two things - all the fur from my 2 black labs and then the toilets. I agree with the previous commenter, boys are disgusting, grown up ones or little ones!
Posted by: Carrie | September 10, 2008 at 10:45 AM
Dishes, dishes, dishes. I hate doing dishes!! I would rather clean the bathrooms than do dishes.
Posted by: Valerie | September 10, 2008 at 10:47 AM
Going through all the piles that I've created! I think I'm being organized by sorting things into piles to go through "when I have time." Ha! Then the piles just keep piling, and they have to get moved off the dining room table because there's company coming over, and then one day I can't see the bed in the guest room anymore because it's covered with piles and I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!
*ahem* Sorry about that. So yeah, after that point, I spend the better part of a weekend going through all my junk and thinking to myself, "Why didn't I just put this where it belonged in the first place?" *Sigh*
Posted by: April | September 10, 2008 at 10:54 AM
I don't know why but I HATE making the bed. It's just such a constant chore, every day and so early in the morning. And then you just mess it up EVERY DAY!
Posted by: Jenna Z | September 10, 2008 at 11:13 AM
The fork in my eye comes to mind when I attack the dust underneath the beds in my kids rooms. How does it produce so quickly! There's no swiffer strong enough, I tell you.
Posted by: water works | September 10, 2008 at 11:17 AM
Hmmm.. either it's the constant decluttering of the entry area/dining area (and can I mention the annoyance of having only an entry area/ dining area...we live in NYC...)
Or, keeping up with the kitchen
Or, yup, keeping the bathroom clean. Toilet - disgusting tub AND cat litter box.
Bah!
Posted by: Di | September 10, 2008 at 11:18 AM
i absolutely hate the job of controlling the playroom clutter. I hate the ordeal of sorting through toys so that i can toss broken ones, pass on those not played with, or just getting the like ones together - it makes me nuts. ..legos, mini-legos, bionicles, matchbox cars, mini starwars action figure...ugh..the list goes on.
Posted by: sheri | September 10, 2008 at 11:19 AM
I don't know why my comments post without a name...but that one about the dust was from me. Water Works

TOILETS. And I don't even have boys! I can't begin to imagine 5...
Posted by: Alyssa @ Keeping the Kingdom First | September 10, 2008 at 12:27 PM
UGH! I hate hate HATE cleaning the bathroom tiles! What? They need cleaning today? Now, where did that fork go...
Posted by: Pam | September 10, 2008 at 12:34 PM
I cannot stand laundry. I despise putting away and folding and ironing and doing it over and over and over. I cannot stand laundry.
Come to think of it...I really don't like any housecleaning. Excuse me while I go get a fork.
Posted by: Krissy | September 10, 2008 at 12:42 PM
Showers, the grout specifically ... oh boy, where's my fork?
Posted by: uncommonblonde | September 10, 2008 at 12:47 PM
dusting and toilets - agggh! ;)
Posted by: Steph @ Problem Solvin Mom | September 10, 2008 at 12:51 PM
I hate cleaning the kitchen floor....no matter how I clean it ie.Wet Jet, mop, hands and knees; it never seems to get clean enough, NOR does it stay "non-sticky" for very long. That fork is a constant accessory in my eye...I even blinged it up a bit! ;)
Posted by: Anjie | September 10, 2008 at 12:56 PM
I would rather eat dog food daily than have to sort, fold, iron and put away laundry. I absolutely hate it.
Posted by: lindsey | September 10, 2008 at 01:07 PM
Oh, so many to choose from... bathrooms. It must be the bathrooms - I have my kids clean them weekly (even mine!).
Posted by: Cathy | September 10, 2008 at 01:08 PM
It's gotta be the bathrooms. I have one husband and two sons. Need I say more?
Posted by: Barb Szyszkiewicz, sfo | September 10, 2008 at 01:37 PM
Oh, the toilets. We are beginning to potty train the boy. Y'all, pray for me.
Posted by: Fox's Momma | September 10, 2008 at 01:39 PM
Mopping, toilets, ironing, unloading the dishwasher.
Posted by: Mama Hen | September 10, 2008 at 02:15 PM
I honestly don't really like anything about housekeeping at all. But I guess the worst is... hmmm... it's a 50-50 between ironing and cleaning the greasy stove/oven.
Posted by: Elisa | September 10, 2008 at 02:54 PM
Poke my eye out, hmmmm....probably keeping up with outdoor maitenance. Seems like I can keep up on the inside or the outside but nothing inbetween.

Laundry & Junk oh no that Guest Room = forking in the eye numerous times. But hey I LOVE LOVE LOVE guidelines, how-to's, & check lists so maybe this could be the thing for me. Not to mention I am getting married next year and I desperately want to get the junk/clutter gone before moving in with my sweetie. I am super excited about this e-book!!!!
PS I love your blog!!!

I need all the help I can get...
My house is in a constant state of disaster.
Posted by: Dejoni | September 10, 2008 at 04:04 PM
The Kitchen!! Washing those darn floors, especially around the high chair and my preschooler's chair. What a mess!!
Posted by: Lori | September 10, 2008 at 04:13 PM
Floors! I swear I vacuum 3 times a day and should mop more than that! With three little kids I feel like the floor is never clean!
And I won't even talk about clutter! The garage is more of a storage room!
Posted by: Lorie | September 10, 2008 at 04:38 PM
My worst is laundry (as evidenced by the mountain of it in the upstairs hallway - ugh!). With 4 boys, the toilet and it's surrounding area has to be near the top of the list too. Oh, and dusting - because I'm allergic and it makes me miserable physically when I stir up all that dust.
Posted by: Jane | September 10, 2008 at 04:57 PM
That last comment . . . laundry, toilet, dusting . . . was mine. For some reason my name didn't post with it. Jane
Posted by: Jane | September 10, 2008 at 04:58 PM
The cooking. Seriously. Or really, the planning that it requires. 'cuz I always end up cooking the same thing since I can't think of anything new. Ugh.
Posted by: Krista | September 10, 2008 at 05:07 PM
Without a doubt, it's cleaning closets and drawers. HATE.
Posted by: that girl | September 10, 2008 at 05:33 PM
Toilets. I can't do toilets -- it makes me gag.
