The one where I make a fool of myself. Again. Enjoy.

I can't even stand to watch this...However, I *HAVE* to get comfortable on camera.

Last week, Audrey and Leslie were all, "WHAT? Girlfriend, you need get over that!"

So, you know me...

I know, I am such a dork. :) Go ahead laugh at me. I know.

Watching myself on a vlog may have to go on my Enemies List!

Sometimes underwire does more than lift.

Complaint Free Week? Can YOU do it?

Untitled - 1

 I spoke at A Woman Inspired with talented women. Fancy women. Not women like me. I only "play" fancy on the Internet. One of these fine ladies was the amazing Sheila Wray Gregoire. She has many wonderful books and blogs over at To Love, Honor and Vacuum.

 She challenged herself and her readers to try a complaint free week. I immediately was all proud and thought to myself how easy I could do that. I generally am a pretty agreeable gal and try to keep my pettiness negativity grumpiness fussy thoughts to myself.

 Turns out, after being cognizant of my speech yesterday, I am a total jerk to my kids***. I complain to them about their misdeeds, and then about them to my Husband.

 I can't even begin to tell you all the times I have sat in public people watching (whole families at a time) and judging them. I judge the parents and the kids. I judge how they speak to each other and feel all smug about my own family.

 Seriously, y'all. I am such a hypocrite. A total jerk.

 So, this week, I am taking Sheila's challenge to stop complaining and hopefully to be less of a jerk.

 What about you? Are you a secret complainer, too? Are you brave enough to take the challenge?

 Speak up Friends of Fussypants....don't leave me bein' all vulnerable here for nothing. {giggles}

xoxo, alli

(*but really sometimes complaining and just reporting the days events are very close to the same thing. How do you tell the story of a child peeing on floor then falling in it all while another child decorated the bathroom sink with toothpaste?)

Perspective on Guns in the Potty

Gun in the potty

Oh hai. See that up there? I wake up to the occasional gun in the potty here in the house of happy chaos.

The whole idea of "Mommy Blogging" is a story of balance. It is a story of perspective. Taking a step back to capture a moment and give that moment meaning.

Long days and longer nights as a mom wear me down. Sometimes this little space on the vast web with you make it all so much easier. After almost a thousand people voted for more stories from my life, I am reminded to take that step back not freak out over this stuff and enjoy each day by clinging to the craziness of it all.

When I staggered in the bathroom pre-starbucks-IV-infusion this morning this blog saved the day. I could have very easily flipped out ( YOUBETTERGETINHERE RIGHT. NOW. YOUNG. MAN) but I thought of you. I giggled and grabbed my camera, knowing you would get a kick out of seeing my glamorous morning.

Thank you, Dear Friends of Fussypants, for reminding me to keep my perspective.

I am Blissfully Domestic I'm linking this post to I am Blissfully Domestic under the family category. I am so grateful for my family, even with random potty guns, and grateful for you; for being here to laugh with me! Be sure to visit and link up your post about family life, home keeping, hobbies and anything else that we cover over at Blissfully Domestic.

Because even if you are more Blissful and less Domestic, like me, you can find a spot to link up! :)

Blog Crisis & Updates

Jeremiah hangin at blissdom

Guess who is getting better? Yay. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. He is kicking RSV in the trash! We have a doctor appointment Monday morning to give him the all clear to fly. We have a flight to Kansas City Monday at 11:40. Just a quick overnight trip. Hopefully we will get the all clear to go. Rachel took this sweet picture at Blissdom. Thanks, Rachel!

Now, a confession-

{insert dramatic music}

I'm kinda meh about this site. I love this site, well maybe not the site, I love you. I love the feedback and the friendships. I love that you come and check in, and laugh and have fun here. But the site is kinda boring me. I'm not sure what to do.

Remember when I told you I would move to Wordpress and make it all fancy? Well, lemme tell ya, not gonna happen for a while. Remember when I won that prize from Sommer at Green and Clean Mom for a free Wordpress conversion? I never heard back from Claire at Sharp Wit Designs after we talked a few times. I sent her an email saying if she had some sort of crisis in her life I was sorry and told her not to worry about it. If anyone knows her let me know. I've been worried about what happened to her.

So, anyhoo, I put the site on hold while I waited on her to move me and I'm here and kinda bored. I never follow any blogging rules. I talk family, or kids, or work, or whatever is on my mind, but maybe you want something new here? So, I'm asking you, my friends, my dear readers, what would you like to see more of?

Because I am tempted to start posting everyday as an experiment. Will I get my bloggy mojo back? (giggles) I am a voracious twitterer/tweeter/twitterererer and have a bunch to say, a bunch to share and think I might just start posting a ton. Be warned! :)

I worry I will bore you to death if I talk about online stuff/social media things. I wonder how many of you blog already and are interested in more info?

I'm gonna do a poll to pick your brains. I want to respect your opinions and not take this site in a way that bores you to tears. Also, if you hate polls, ignore it and leave comments or email me with your feedback, ok?

Please click all topics that you like and want more of. ;)

Priorities

Sleepy

I've learned so much the last couple of years of my life: how earthly possessions are fleeting, how to maintain perspective during the valleys, and what I value above all else.

Sorry I haven't posted this week. My boys are sick and my baby has pneumonia from RSV. Nothing pierces my heart like a child in pain. I am so grateful for the antibiotics, and breathing treatments and the amazing power of Noggin to make my babies happy.

I'll be back next week here at Mrs Fussypants. Need to focus on my boys for a bit. If you have emailed me, please forgive my lack of response, it's not you- it's me. I can't keep up. Please send again next week?

Love, Alli

Not Really Wordless Wednesday- The Impossible Charitable Anthropist

MyHero

You can make your own superhero for free here*. My weapon of choice? Groceries. My colors? Pink and green, of course! The site chooses your name for you. I really like mine. If you make one be feel free to link yours back here in the comments. Way fun.

*Warning- be sure to turn down your speaker volume before you click over. Automusic plays.*

Well done blog posts are not my style.

Mrs Fussypants has nothing to blog about but random stuff and only wants to make graphics all day the end

So many big things are going to be announced this week. Tomorrow I will be part of a multi-blog announcement. So fun! {par-tay time}

Tuesday we will start voting on the Inappropriate photo caption from Nana's finalists. {Holla, Nana Fussypants}

Then Wednesday something big will launch. It is a huge, awesome brilliant group project that will cause great feelings of love and hatred around the web. {bites nails}

Time to pull up my big girl panties and put a smile on my face. It's a big week y'all.

Today I am tweaking the Worthington wire and making new buttons. They are seriously funny.

So I am reeeeeeaally focusing in on the easiness of Worthy Wire. You likey?

Daisy, the most awesome Web Developer ever, is tweaking the WW site. We will soon have only 5 links per category, and we'll have lots more categories to choose from. I am psyched!

Ok, enough of my randomness, I need to go tend to my kiddos. Be back tomorrow.

Wait! (runs back to the computer) How *YOU* doin? {waggles eyebrows} You look cute today. You must be losing weight. Or maybe it is your hair?

Giggles.

Much love to ya, Alli

Inauguration Day 2009

  Inaug

I  put my politics aside and watched the inauguration of our 44th president with the reverence it deserves.

I am proud of my country. My five sons will grow up in a whole new era.  I am proud that skin color is no longer a limiting factor and small-minded bigotry is the exception rather than the rule.

My heart bursts with joy at the growth of our great land.

Inaug6

I will pray for our new President. I hope you will, too.

Inaug7

Pray he will recieve wisdom and guidance from God.

Inaug3

God bless our Wonderful Nation.

Inaug8

Inaug9

The classy, peaceful handover of power is simply breathtaking.

Inaug10

A beautiful day.

Inaug4

Aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnddddddddddd then I saw this...

Inaug11

And I remembered I need a good nights sleep so I will be ready to keep an eye on Rahm for the next four years. Mustn't forget I disagree with all those feel good policies. Gotta stay in the know.

If you want to stay in the know the 'lazy gal's way' come take a peek at my new baby! It's not quite done, I still have tons of tweaks and kinks, but I want you to see it before I start publicizing it. Please come take a look. I would love to hear what you think.

Name That Inappropriate Photo- Um, What is he doing?

Funny from evil milk

I seriously have no guesses.

Can y'all even think of anything?

Will it hurt his feelings if we caption it?

I mean, he *did* take his shirt off in public.

Oh gosh, good luck this week!

Love, Alli
